Molly Hedgpeth

Molly Hedgpeth has devoted more than three decades to serving residents living along the post-acute continuum. She has expertise in providing direct speech therapy intervention, music therapy, wellness activities, and clinical education. She is confident with OBRA regulations, care planning, and Section F+ completion. She has supervised more than 50 interns in various studies, including music therapy and communication/swallowing disorders. She holds a Texas license as a speech-language pathologist and board certifications in music therapy and activity consulting/education. She holds degrees in communication disorders and music therapy from West Texas A&M University. Molly is a four-time recipient of ASHA's Award of Continuing Education and holds the certificate of clinical competency. She has completed the requirements to provide supervision of the SLP clinical fellowship. She has served as a subject matter expert for the Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health in Nursing Facilities on the topic of substance use disorders, provided online webinars to Assured Partners on the topic of activity programming, and is well-versed in the history, regulation, reimbursement, and care planning of long-term care. She is a certified peer support visitor for the Amputee Coalition of America. Molly is the 2023 recipient of the Making A Difference award from the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. As an educator, she has developed THRIVE dementia and behavior support education program recognized by the Alzheimer's Association. She is certified as an activity consultant and educator by the CMS Medicare Learning Partner: APNCC. She can prepare facility staff to achieve certification and excellence in OBRA regulations, Section F care planning, and activity programs. Her current projects include guitar instruction, horticulture, and targeted programming for the younger male population living with spinal cord injury and other trauma.
